Julie Bates



Julie Bates is a freelance writer with a background in education living in the North Carolina Triad, an area that includes Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point.
Her clients have included local and national magazines, newspapers and regional publications. She currently is regular contributor to the Asheboro Courier Tribune.
Julie enjoys researching and writing on a variety of topics. She has covered topics such as spinning wheel restoration, Church and Faith issues, historic preservation and cooking. She finds joy in learning new things.
Julie taught in North Carolina public schools and holds a Masters Degree in Special Education. She holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and History and even worked at Duke University’s library before taking a break to be a mom.
Her interests include green living, history, good mystery novels and cooking. She also takes interest in exploring issues of faith, reading about the paranormal and painting.
She lives in Asheboro with her husband, Bill, son Chris, two dogs, eight cats, one honeybee hive and her garden.
