Description | Everyone has a story. Here’s mine.
If an introverted nerd could be slightly cool, I’m pretty sure that’s how my kids would describe me. I’ve always loved writing, but my determination to get the words right started during my senior year of high school when my advanced writing teacher pulled me aside and told me that if I didn’t start putting in more effort, I was on a path toward failure. After gasping the indignant sigh of a senior suffering from advanced symptoms of spring fever, I squared my shoulders and started pouring my angsty teenage heart onto paper for my teacher’s reading enjoyment. I haven’t stopped writing since.
Since then, I’ve written for large corporations. I’ve written internal communications, external communications, creative copy, product copy, resumes, cover letters, websites, blogs. I’ve written for start-ups and for creative companies where collective creativity energizes entire teams.
In addition to writing, I’m a detail-oriented proofreader, copyeditor, and substantive editor. (A red pen is every girl’s favorite accessory, right?)
I’ve written a picture book, and I’m working on my second middle grade book. Oh yeah, and there’s that novel, too. Honestly, I love making words work for every situation, and the bigger the challenge, the better.
I’m a word nerd. A grammar geek with a penchant for breaking the rules. A writer, a reader, a learner, a mom, and a wife.
That’s my story. It’s nice to meet you. |
